Samsung TC240 Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

Samsung-TC240
Locking eyes with a Samsung gadget is no minor thing to those who love laptops, cellphones, TVs and the like; the reason: the design of the company’s products. The latest SyncMaster TC240 is a very elegant matte black bezel and also slim, thanks to the 25.5” x 16.2” x 7.2” dimensions. It’s also relatively light: it weighs 8.85 kg (including the speaker). This monitor is an upgrade to the TC190 model, because it features 24”, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution / 1080p, 1.000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m² brightness and 16.7 million colors.
Are you the owner of a Samsung device? Then you know how famous, good and beloved the company’s products are. Do you want to try one of their monitors for the very first time? Then you should know that they launched a new one last year. Manufacturers decided to call it Samsung TC240 and claimed that people would be swept away by its superb performance. Should we believe them? We tested their device and wrote the following review for our readers.

1080p resolution

When compared to the usual thin-client hardware, the device decided to test came with the mentioned hardware built into the screen; this saved a lot of valuable space. It also saves money for someone who works with a lot of customers, because the TC240 monitor can install update and manage various software on the central server after which it easily distributes it via the Thin Client network. Customers won’t have to fear online attacks thanks to the network’s security solutions.

AMD processor included

The Samsung SyncMaster TC240 runs on a 1.5GHz AMD processor and sports 64MB internal RAM. As for operating system, the device comes installed with Windows XP SP3; this meant that we were able to use the product without connecting a computer. We weren’t too overjoyed when we saw it also featured IE 7.0.
Now let’s return to the specifications. The 5ms made sure, as expected, that we watched  when we performed that review at various content without experiencing blurs. The resolution delivered beautiful images. The 64MB were enough to store whatever files we wanted. The 170/160 degrees of horizontal and vertical viewing angle didn’t present any problems, therefore the monitor enabled us to look at it and see it very well from any position.

Stereo speakers included

If you’re worried about connectivity, you should know that the TC240 has headphone, microphone, 1 VGA, 1 Ethernet and 4 USB 2.0 ports; the latter one allowed us, during the tests for this device, to connect a mouse, a keyboard and so on directly to it.
As for sound, the team at Samsung decided to include in TC240 optional integrated 1-Watt stereo speakers.
The monitor consumes 65 Watts when turned on and less than 2.7 Watts in stand-by. In terms of warranty, the device offers a 3-year limited period.

Test and review conclusion

And so here we are at the end of our test and review. The Samsung TC240 is certainly among the best monitors out there. if you decide to buy it, you won’t get disappointed.
