Description: Model ID S1730 / Manufacturer: Fujifilm - 12.2 Megapixel - SDHC Memory Card - 3" LCD Screen - 15x Optival Zoom
Advantages: excellent value for money for a slr camera
Disadvantages: high battery usage

For an SRL camera that was a bargain price in Argos. I was dubious first as you are not able to change the lens but the next priced srl camera was £200 more. So I bought this a a birthday present for my fiance.

And he was very pleased. Even though you cant change the lens the zoom on this is fantastic. And you are able to zoom into a leaf on a tree in the distance with no lose of quality in the picture.

The only downside to this is the battery usage. It seems to eat four AA batteries over a couple of days if left on for long period of times. And be aware that the camera tends to prefer to same batteries over the life of its camera. So far example if the first batteries you put in are duracel ensure that replacements are the same. I made this mistake when I had my first camera and replaced with different batteries and I couldnt get the camera to stay on for longer than 30 seconds. I took it back to the shop and they quickly gave me an exchange but said its because of the battery type not being the same. I have had no problems with my replacement and it has been on many holidays with me.

These cameras are heavier than a standard digital camera but this is because it is very sturdy and I happen to drop by accident I dont expect it to break. Not planning on testing it out though. This camera is not ideal if you want to take it on a night out as the size and weight is not practical to put into a handbag. Doesnt come with a case, but I suggest buying one.

I compare this to a more expensive camera and the difference is price can not be noticed dramatically. So if you are looking for a cheaper srl camera I would highly recommend this one.

It takes pictures with ease, and uploads on to a computer within a matter of a couple of minutes. The picture quality is superb. The pictures are crisp and sharp and photos taken in the evening are not affected by quality as the light automatically comes on, but you can choose to put this on for any picture.
