Good News : The Best iPhone 5 Rumors We’ve Heard (So Far Today)

iPhone-5Another day, another fresh stack of iPhone 5 rumors. We’ve parsed through all the hearsay to bring you the crème de la crème in wild-eyed Apple speculation.
Maybe it’ll have a bigger screen

Unwire.hk posted a few leaked photos of the iPhone 5′s would-be screen protector, which Mac Rumors and a few other blogs picked up on.

(MORE: Why Competing with Apple Is So Difficult)
What the pictures might mean

If the silhouette of the screen protector is in fact for the iPhone 5 (and not some other phone) then those old rumors of a larger 4-inch screen might be back in play. The capacitive home button might also be elongated and more oval-shaped than before, which seem to confirm previous rumors that it’ll pull double duty as a swipeable gesture area. Thumb-tastic!
When is it coming out?
“If we believe what we have been told, the iPhone 5 will be released on 15 October.”
- France Telecom CEO Stéphane Richard at a BFM Business conference, as reported by Tech Radar. France Telecom is the main telecommunication company for France and the third largest in all of Europe.
Surprise! People still want their iPhone 4′s

Broadcom, one of Apple’s biggest suppliers, is experiencing product delays that have many speculating we’re looking at rush orders for the iPhone 5. Cult of Mac, however, points out that might not be the case. “‘Rush orders’ are likely not from a new or unknown product, but rather imply more needed capacity with a mature product offering,” says supply-chain analyst Richard Davenport, speaking with Bloomberg. It would appear that demand for the iPhone 4 remains steady, even with all the attention the iPhone 5 is getting.

Hopefully this article useful for you...!!!

Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO; COO Tim Cook Takes Over

Breaking news! Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple. In his letter of resignation, which has just been released publicly, he stated that he could no longer meet his “duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO.” He then asks the company’s Board of Directors to employ him instead as Chairman of the Board, if they want to.
“I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role,” he stated in the letter.

Jobs has been battling with pancreatic cancer since the last decade, which endured him through numerous treatments including a liver transplant in 2009. In January this year, he took his third medical leave of absence. He then made a surprise appearance last March to introduce the iPad 2. Jobs was last seen in public last June, when he presented the iCloud, Apple’s new online storage and syncing service.
As a replacement, Jobs strongly recommends Apple’s COO Tim Cook in his letter, which the Board has obliged minutes after Job’s resignation. The move was an expected one, considering Cook has filled in for Jobs during his medical leaves. Jobs has also been elected as Chairman of the Board, with Cook joining in as member of the Board.
Prior to his entry in Apple, Cook was vice president of Corporate Materials for Compaq and was responsible for the procurement and management of all the company’s product inventory. Before his work in Compaq, Cook also worked as COO of Intelligent Electronic’s reseller division and as director of North American Fulfillment for IBM.
From all of us here on Gadget.com, we wish Steve Jobs well.

Ten Years of iPod Apple

October 23, 2011, marks the tenth year since the iPod was introduced. The iconic portable media player has since become tiny and powerful, touch-capable and interactive throughout its different models and generations.

Then-CEO of Apple Steve Jobs introduced the first iPod 10 years ago at a special event. It has 4GB of storage, can hold up to a thousand songs, lasts for up to 10 hours, and can easily fit in one’s pocket. Although it was not the first MP3 player introduced in the market, the iPod was the first to become immensely popular among consumers.

To date, over 300 million iPods have been sold, but it did not come easy. The first iPod had a hefty $399 price tag on its launch and since at that time it can only be connected to iTunes-installed Apple computers, the rest of the world (who mainly uses Windows-based PCs) did not care. Things only began to pick up in 2002 when Apple came up with a Windows-compatible version of iTunes. By 2003, Apple had sold one million iPods. A year later, sales had reached 10 million.
There was concern on the fate of the iPod when more and more people are beginning to carry their music on their smartphones. While iPhone sales are exploding, iPod sales cannot seem to catch up, accounting for just 8 percent of Apple’s total revenue in the fourth quarter of 2010. The iPod Classic also did not get its update this year, as it usually does.

Whether new versions of iPods will be introduced or it will be shelved due to redundancy, the impact of the iPod in casual listening, as well as in the music industry itself, remains undeniable.

Apple MacBook Pro 15″ 2 GHz Core i7 Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

apple-macbook-pro-15-2-ghz-core-i7One of the latest products launched by Apple is the new version of its 15 inch notebook. This version is pleasant and extremely fast. It’s the first time when Apple choose a quad core processor for a notebook.

The expectations before test

Another time, Apple continues to follow the latest updates of Intel processors. This time this giant producer offer us a powerful version of its notebooks – the 15 inch version. In this time, Cupertino platform has even evolve more than that. The processors are more powerful (quad cores) and the new graphics cards was involved. In the same time, two new features are introduced: the interface input / output called Thunderbolt Intel, with promising potential, but it is impossible to judge in this moment because we still not have the peripherals. Apple is ahead of multipliers attractive performance in power, graphics rendering and speed. But how it’s in test ? Let’s see the review !

The reality

The latest MacBook Pro 15-inch (15.4 inch in fact), with just 2.54 kg, its resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels, with Unibody design and aluminum finish seems to be the perfect compromise between a netbook and a 17 inch notebook. If you want to see how is in reality, you must read our review.

Good ergonomics, as usual

At the first view we are interested in the ergonomics of the new  MacBook Pro 15 inch version. The glossy aspect of the series is the only weak point we could find him. However, it’s enough to change a little bit the brightness panel backlit by LEDs to suffer no more disturbing light reflections in the eyes.
A very good point is the backlit keyboard. Is a real pleasure to use it, both in terms of the comfortable typing than readability if you have very low light. We are nothing to say about that. The touchpad of the notebook is very broad and is particularly useful when you want to take the fold, using the system of windows in Mac OS X or one wishes, the ability to scroll or to make zoom in the images or other similar things.
If you look at the connectivity, you must know that the notebook it has two USB 2.0 ports, only… We are a little bit disappointed  because here are only two and only USB 2.0. However, instead of another USB port we found the  Thunderbolt Part connector. This new standard will serve mainly for the moment to connect displays with a Mini DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI… This feature seems to be a little bit frustrating to have because is just revolutionary in theory, because in this moment cannot be used, because of the lack of devices.
Quad Core i7 processor from Intel

It’s the first time in the history of Apple notebooks when the processor selected  (a Core i7 with Sandy Bridge architecture running at 2 GHz) has 4 cores (quad core). Anyway the Cupertino company has already announced a doubling of performance. In fact, we tested and compared this version with the previous 15-inch (Dual Core i7 processor at 2.6 GHz) and different applications for testing, and the result is a multiplier with 1.5, not with 2, but with some peaks at 2. Anyway, this doubling of performance registers both at the level of some built-in operating system (compressed archives) with few applications (like PhotoShop CS5) seems to have heavy positive effects. It’s the same result for the calculations for 2D and 3D renderings with 3D StudioMax, for example.
After that we want to know more about the hard drive and the transfer rates allowed by the disk. The disk used by default, was 500 GB capacity at 5400 rpm, and is quite honest, but you can choose a more fast hard drive with 7200 rpm or a SSD disk if you have enough money to buy one.

Dedicated Radeon for video graphics

Comparing with the two 13-inch models that only offer the Intel Graphics HD 3000, the 15 inch model has a dedicated Radeon video card. For this model Apple has developed a proprietary technology, already present in previous models equipped with an Nvidia card,  able to perform switches from one chip to another depending on the needs of applications used.In this way you can saves the battery life when you have are in a office task and you don’t need a lot of resources. In this way you will have power just when you need. The power of the video card is entrusted to a Radeon HD 6490 with 256 MB of video memory. In the test, its performance is not weak, but nothing impressive. This model of video card is far superior to all the previous models but far away from multiplying by nine announced by Apple in its press releases.
Another thing, you can use a multiplier, which achieve though more regularly with the graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 6750 with 1GB of dedicated memory) of 15-inch model. This version is more expensive with 400 euros, comparing with the original one.
Anyway, this model costs 1749 Euros, so do not count push down the video settings strips games and 3D applications or video. However, if you don’t use very often the HD editior or you are not addicted for games which needs a lot of resources, this entry level 15 inch version will not fail to satisfy you.
The autonomy is relatively good, with about 4 h and 40 minutes in our tests. We said that because in this time we seen that the video card was used at medium level, without empty the battery very fast. Anyway, this model should be on the top of the most correct 15 inch laptops.

The test and review conclusions

You must know that the first MacBook Pro 15-inch price is about 1749 euros is telling less than its big brother (2149 euros) in terms of configuration. Anyway, this is the only difference between these two configurations and we believe that will not make the difference of prices of about 400 euros.  Our conclusion is the MacBook Pro 15″ 2 GHz Core i7
made by Apple it’s a perfect choice for those who want to have a correct choice between portability of 13 inches notebooks and the high cost and weight of 17 inches models.

Apple iPhone 4S Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

iphone-4sApple’s Special Event on October 4th brought good news for all its fans, especially for iPhone lovers, who have been properly introduced to the new iPhone 4S, the newest of the iPhone bunch. The new Apple smartphone is very promising, being equipped with an improved processor, a very good camera and, the most interesting of all, a voice- controlled assistant, ready to serve its master in any problem which can be solved with a quick search on the internet. If you want supplemental details about this prone, you must read this review.

1080p Full HD videos

The new iPhone 4S comes with over 200 new features, which definitely makes it better than its younger fellows. For example, it is the first of the smartphones with a 3.5″ touchscreen and a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels. It runs the newest of Apple’s OS, with a multi- touch interface, and it is up to 7 times faster than the previous iPhone thanks to the powerful dual-core A5 processor.
The 8- megapixel camera is now capable of great photos. The larger aperture and the 3,264 x 2,448 resolution along with the improved capacity of taking more light, the pictures taken will be able to capture and show the desired image. Compared to iPhone 4, it takes picture 33 percent faster and is capable of recording 1080p full HD videos. Shaky snapshots are no longer a problem, as the new video stabilization does its job perfectly and steadies the images.

Dual A5 processor

For those of you game lovers and what not, the dual A5 processor of 4S speeds up graphics that will please the eye and not only, as it is quicker and faster in launching apps, net surfing and pretty much every thing it is supposed to do. And because you will enjoy so much playing with it, the more powerful battery will meet your expectations, with up to 8h talk time on 3G, 14h talk time on 2G, 9 h of web using Wi- Fi, and up to 40 h of music.
And this is not all. The most interesting feature of Apple’s new “toy” is yet to be described. With this new feature, owning an iPhone 4S will not mean only owning a slim smartphone, but it will also mean having a new friend, with the beta version of Siri, the voice- deciphering assistant.

Vocal assistant technology

It is a female voice, who will play the role of your personal assistant, in case you always dream of having one. All we can say is that it really feels like having a new friend in 4S smartphone. Even if it was only a test, Siri helped us get the right bus and be right on time at the meeting. And “she” also told us about the chilly weather outside. And it can help you in many other things, like organizing your agenda, sending messages, set up alarms or finding a good restaurant. And we could go on and on.

Good battery life

Another useful thing we quickly remarked during testing the product, was the new wireless system, based on two antennas, GSM and CDMA. The new iOS of 4S can switch between them, even when you are on the phone, the result being that you no longer risk dropping calls, and you can talk from every place in the world. We did not meet any malfunctions and the long lasting battery really challenged our own natural batteries.

Test and review conclusions

The new smartphone was a pleasure to play with in the test performed for this review. Great speed in browsing, perfect resolution for games and videos, clear pictures and a talking “iFriend” are just a few of the enhancements the 4S carries within its shiny, slim figure. We say this new iPhone 4S is going to be big.

Apple iPad 2 Review, Release Date, Price, Specifications and Features

The Apple iPad 2, arguably the best tablet computer on the planet, has just received a stylish makeover. The brainchild of former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, it sports the latest high-tech specs and features.

Apple iPad 2 review

Sub-par cameras
In 2010, almost twelve months ago, the Apple iPad swaggered onto the stage and changed the way we viewed tablet computers forever. In the year that followed, it won Gadget of the Year at the T3 Awards 2010 and garnered a place on the tech world's exclusive hall of fame.
This 'post PC' device single-handedly re-shaped our expectations on how we wish to receive content and has potentially rejuvinated the entire publishing industry. With several newspapers and magazines, including T3, jumping on the iPad waggon, it seems the world of print could meet its fate earlier than expected.

Now, as competitors from the Android, RIM, with its BlackBerry Playbook, and WebOS, tug on its cape, eager to fly alongside the iPad, Apple is back with an improved device offering a streamlined design and more power. All for the same price.
Can the Apple iPad 2 pull further away from the chasing pack, and does it do enough to tempt first-generation owners into an upgrade? T3 tested the 32GB WiFi version to find out.

Apple iPad 2 Design and build
Lifting the iPad 2 out of the box, you almost feel like you’re handling Grandma’s fine china - such is the skinniness of the 8.8mm frame. Remarkably though, the tablet retains a very sturdy feel. It’s not the least bit fragile and there’s zero flexibility. It’s a piece of engineering that defies physics.
The weight has also dropped. At 601g (for the WiFi version) the tablet has shed 15 per cent of its body mass. Big deal, you say, but you will notice the difference. It’s still not Kindle-light though, and we still found the one-handed grip uncomfortable.
The design itself has evolved with the edges which are rounded like an Apple iPod Touch. While it looks better and is less bulky, the thinner edges actually make it more difficult to keep a steady hand. You also have to adopt an awkward reach-around approach to access the volume and screen switches.
Apple iPad 2 Screen
While we were blown away by the original iPad’s 9.7-inch 1024x768 LED-backlit display, we were hoping this would bring a version of its Apple Phone 4 Retina Screen. Now it hasn’t, we’re a little disappointed.
While indoor performance is still great and colours are truly vivid for gaming, photos and videos, in the post-Retina Screen world, text still isn’t quite as crisp as we’d like and it’s still pretty useless in sunlight. It also attracts a lot of finger marks. Lets hope an improved screen comes on any iPad 3 next year.
Apple iPad 2 iOS 4.3
Beyond the design refresh, the iPad 2 comes packing the new iOS 4.3 operating system. You get the usual folders, multitasking, Airplay and customisable screens. iTunes Home Sharing, another addition, offers a seamless liberation of your entire music library over Wi-Fi, with one-touch.
The new OS also allows you to customise the side switch to either mute the device or lock the screen. It’s a handy bonus, but by no means earth shattering.
Apple iPad 2 Processor and graphics
A quantifiable improvement comes with the new dual core 1GHz Apple A5 processor, replacing the A4 by offering twice the power. If you thought this thing was nifty before, then wait until you get a hold of the iPad 2.
Such is the speed of response when you touch the screen that you’ll think ‘did I even touch that yet?’ It almost pre-empts your commands. The T3 iPad Edition opens instantly, while images render much faster than before. The heftier apps, like the new GarageBand (an essential download, the highlight of which is the different response from piano keys depending on the sensitivity of your touch - enabled by the accelerometer and a huge leap forward) still take a short while to open, but not noticeably so.
T3.com loads and renders quickly over Wi-Fi, while pinch-to-zoom re-formatting is definitely quicker. YouTube performance is great, while downloading music, movies and podcasts is rapid.
Apple also promised a nine-fold improvement in the graphics department. We tested this claim with EA’s Dead Space, which specifically advertised an iPad 2 upgrade. It looks phenomenal, almost PS3 and Xbox 360-esque, while the fast-paced monster-slaying action was slick and judder-free. You feel we’ve only just scratched the surface here.
Apple iPad 2 Cameras
Of course the other change comes with the addition of cameras. FaceTime video calling is now available for iPad and while the quality won’t blow you away it does the job. The rear-facing camera is passable, offering decent snaps in good conditions, but drab colours and limited detail the rest of the time. It’s nowhere near as good as the iPhone 4’s excellent 5-megapixel offering.
There’s 720p video recording on board, which comes in really handy for the brilliant iMovie app, but the iPad 2 has to be the most ridiculously shaped video camera of all time. Are you really going to use it in public?
Apple iPad 2 Smart Covers
When we first saw the Smart Covers opinion on the T3 team was split as to the usefulness. A lot was made about these new flimsy, bendy covers and they do work pretty well, folding like origami to offer appropriate stances for watching video and typing, while the magnet clings stubbornly to the chassis.
It will help your battery by putting the device to sleep whenever closed, but they’re expensive (from$39) and offer no protection for the back of your iPad. If you drop it, Smart Cover won’t save it. We’d take a look at what other manufacturers - like Griffin - come up with before buying.
Apple iPad 2 Battery
In terms of battery life, we got around 6 hours of near-solid Wi-Fi surfing, downloading apps and playing games, which is very respectable. The extra processing power doesn’t seem to be provide any supplemental drain on the battery.
Apple iPad 2 Verdict
Admittedly, the iPad 2 is more of an evolutionary step for Apple, akin to the jump from iPhone 3 to 3GS. If you already own an iPad then you’re not missing out too much by waiting for the next iteration before you upgrade. If you held off from buying over the last 12 months, then the iPad 2 is a brilliant reward for your patience. Get out and buy it.
It's taken nearly a year since the launch of the first iPad for any manufacturers to come close to creating a tablet that can rival it. Even then, those that look promising like the Motorola Xoom run such an early OS (in Android 3.0) it will be a while before they can rival the iPad in terms of apps.
With the Blackberry Playbook, HTC Flyer, LG Optimus Pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 all to come, the tablet market looks really exciting over the next few months. And with its mind-blowing new build, new cameras and improvements in the engine room, coupled with the unmatched App Store/iTunes/iOS ecosystem the next-gen iPad is clearly the tablet to beat.
Apple iPad 2 launch date: UK March 25th, link Apple
Apple iPad 2 price: UK TBC, but in the US it is the same as its predecessor, so expect to pay £429 for 16GB, £499 for 32Gb and £599 for 64GB for the WiFi-only version.

Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

Apple-MacBook-Pro-Winter-2011 We instantly get giddy whenever Apple decides to launch something new for its legions of devoted fans (which include us, of course). So you can imagine how excited we were when we heard about the MacBook Pro Winter 2011 for the first time. Even though there’s no Blu-ray, dedicated HDMI or other good options, we can’t say no to an Apple product that easily. We tested the laptop for a complete review and here is our take on its performance and whatnot.

1.280 x 800 display resolution

If you’ve never seen an Apple gadget, you’ve been missing out on things; at least design-wise. The new MacBook Pro Winter 2011 from Apple kept its usual precision unibody aluminum construction, which means a thin, light and solid laptop. Measurements and weight are as follows: 14.3” x 9.8” x 1” and 2.49kg. The screen is a 13.3” edge-to-edge glass still with great viewing angles and 1.280 x 800 native pixel resolution. The keyboard is backlit and it comes with no button for larger tracking area; it was very useful when we had to type when light conditions weren’t great and it gave us the possibility to perform multitouch gestures like pinching, rotating and so on. It moreover offered support for intuitive scrolling. The laptop features light sensors which control keyboard lighting and brightness. During our test we wanted to see how the palm-rest worked and we were impressed, because it offered superb depth.

Intel Core i7 Sandy Bridge processor

The left side of the MacBook Pro Winter 2011 notebook houses 2 USB 2.0, an SDXC card reader and FireWire 800.
As for processor, this device works on a second generation Intel Core i7 Sandy Bridge quad-core processor. It offers users 3D gaming possibilities, digital media management and much more. It comes with two technologies: Hyper-Threading which enables each core to work on two tasks simultaneously and an updated Turbo Boost technology 2.0, which automatically enhances the processor’s speed. There’s also included 6 MB shared L3 cache. The processor  of MacBook Winter 2011 is able to switch between the built-in Intel HD Graphics 3000 and AMD Radeon HD 6490M. The second of the two gave better performance than the actual Intel HD Graphics mentioned earlier when we played games, as it delivered great response and more fps than other laptops.

Thunderbolt technology

The gadget’s Thunderbolt technology has the advantage of providing 10 gigabits per second of transfer speeds in both directions. We found it very easy to transfer data via the Thunderbolt port and the product offered up to 20 times the speed.
The Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 laptop has a webcam with which users can video chat at a resolution of 720p. Its operating system is Mac OS X Snow Leopard.

Good sound quality

When it comes to memory, the laptop we tested in our labs for this review sports 4 GB installed RAM; as for storage, there’s a 500 GB Serial ATA hard drive with 5400rpm. In the networking department, the device comes with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 802.11n Wi-Fi (compatible with 802.11a/b/g) and 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet.
The pair of stereo speakers had subwoofers and offered good sound quality. But, what this laptop excels in is the battery life: the product lasts 7 hours on a single charge.
Eco-friendliness is well represented here: the laptop exceeds Energy Star 5.0 guidelines.

Test and review conclusion

The new Apple MacBook Pro Winter 2011 is, therefore, one of the best laptops we’ve ever reviewed and so we definitely recommend buying it. But make sure you have the necessary cash first.
