This product also features a 2MP camera, an LED status, the ambient light sensor and the LG logo; they are all located on the front above the screen. A second 5MP camera is to be found on the rear of the tablet; its lenses are preinstalled symmetrically on either side of a metal strip. Two stereo speakers for portrait mode are housed under the gadget and the usual 3.5mm audio jack along with a charger port adorns the top. A third speaker sits near the charging port, to facilitate sound when the tablet is held in landscape.

LG know how to make themselves attractive to customers. Their newest Optimus Pad v900 is the first LG tablet to see the light of day. In a world where such gadgets made by different companies basically look the same when it comes to hardware, displays and not only, the device we tested a while back wants to bring some well-deserved freshness to this category. Below you’ll find our review if you want to see whether this device is efficient or not.

Two cameras included

First of all we’ll touch upon the subject of looks. The LG Optimus Pad v900 is not as eye-candy as, say, other devices of this kind out there, but it still has something nice about it which makes it stand out when put near Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 8.9. the rear has a matte finish; when we tested the LG Optimus v900 for our review, this aspect made it resist fingerprints and also very comfortable to touch and hold. Since it’s a Honeycomb product, its Home / Back / Menu controls can move onto the display. On the right sits the volume button, while the top has a lock/power key.

Moving on, the LG Optimus Pad v900 tablet sported an 8.9” screen with 1280 x 768 pixels of resolution which, when used for reading, gave good results. When we used the display, we saw that colors didn’t appear as expected and contrast also suffered. Unfortunately, viewing angles were disappointing. The screen wasn’t glare-free, so we had issues looking at it outside with the sun shining directly above it. The operating system is Android 3.0.1 Honeycomb; we didn’t encounter problems with it. The interface has been improved and is now easier to navigate; controls are now on-screen. The only trouble we came across was when we used live wallpaper: the device started lagging.

Good battery life

As for ports, the LG Optimus Pad v900 comes preloaded with the following: HDMI, microUSB and many others. There’s a GPS receiver, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth 2.1 In terms of memory, this tablet offers a total amount of 32GB. And, in order to keep up to date with e-mails, there’s support for Gmail and everything else which can be opened with POP3 pr IMAP accounts.
The cameras offered by this gadget are both 3D-enabled and pictures look good; but using the device for something like this is uncomfortable. Videos were also impressive.
For those of you who love music, the LG Pad v900 tablet boasts a beautiful music player with lots of exciting options.
The battery is able to offer 9 hours without charging it and 20 minutes of call time.

Test and review conclusions

The review after our test is simple to be done. Should you want to buy a nice tablet with many features – though not as many as on other pretentious tablets – then the LG Optimus Pad v900 might be the best one for you.

LG E2360V-PN Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

At the first view the design of this LG monitor is interesting and quite successful, but seems to not offer more than the concurrence. In fact, its foot is basic and you will not be able to adjust the height of the monitor as you wish. The format of the monitor is thin and very light, but this is now a common feature for almost monitors powered by LED as source of light.

The new LG-PN E2360V computer monitor has a interesting design design, but its performance, without being bad, is not impressive comparing with the competition from the market.

The expectations before test

If you look on the market, you will see a lot of LED monitors available. However, some models seems to have a lot of  success and many others have disappointed the users. Apparently, the LED backlight is supposed to improve the contrast ratio, uniformity of brightness and consumption of the display but this is not always the case. The producer claims that the monitor-PN E2360V have static contrast ratio of 1000:1 with a brightness of 250 cd / m², and a response time of 5 ms. The dimensions are good and the panel has only 12.5 mm thick. However, we tested  this model and we can say this is one of the good surprises from the beginning of the year.

The reality

Weak response time

Even the producer claims that the speed of display is good, LG-PN E2360V is not really made for gaming.  Our measurements revealed that the LCD’s LCD panel are on average 16.5 ms for a round trip between white and black, a huge value comparing with what the producer said. Other monitors are much faster in this area, and the best value is around 4 ms in our performed tests.  In this case, a response high time leave an afterimage behind moving objects, causing a small blur to the eye of the user. This a bad thing and a problem for of fast video games (shooting games, racing cars, and other similar movements). If you try to play you will feel a visual discomfort.
Anyway, strictly for multimedia, this monitor has a complete connectivity formats: VGA port, DVI-D and HDMI with audio input and output jack 3.5 mm, for headphones connectivity. A bad point is the  missing of integrated speakers into the monitor frame.

Medium color quality

If you look at the quality of the image, the LED backlight of the display seems to offers what he said .  However, the brightness is relatively good with good uniformity, and blacks are deep and correct. If you use the  default settings, the contrast ratio is about 1197:1 and the brightness is about 239 cd / m².

Anyway, the measurement performed after the calibration shows different and better values:  about 114 cd / m² brightness and a decreased contrast ratio, even it still remains higher than 1000:1 according to measurements. This is a good value ! The gamma scale is good in both cases, very close to a value of about 2.2. However,  the display is not excellent in terms of rendering gray and color fidelity. In fact the results are medium, even after calibration with our special probe.

Not so eco friendly

We must be correct and we said that this monitor with LED offers good maximum brightness of 238 cd / m² (this is the average value of nine measurement points on the display). You must know that its backlight seems to be more heat than the other LED monitors, made by concurrence or not. This warmth is not affecting the display itself.  Anyway,  the power consumption of this model is also higher than average: 28.7 W in operation, while the monitors Iiyama E2473HDS and Hanns.G HL245DBB are able to offer superior brightness (243 cd / m²) at lower values of consumption respectively 23.6 and 20.7 W in our tests.

The test and review conclusions

After this test we can said that the LG-PN E2360V is able to rank in the top of the LED displays with medium performance. This value is acceptable just for a model which costs less than 200 euros. The monitor is too slow for gamers, but the image quality is good if you need to use it in conventional office and  for multimedia tasks. Anyway, we think that the users will prefer his brother LG IPS236V, powered by an IPS panel with impressive performance,. However, this will cost you more money comparing with the model tested today.

LG Attune UN270 Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

Fans of LG products, especially phones, now have a reason to be happy: the company offers a new one and its name is Attune UN270. Everyone we talked to have said that this device is one of the nicest ones to fit in the user’s hand and that its’ sliding keyboard is great; they also praised the call quality and the good, though reduced, options. According to them, some minuses of this phone are the lack of instant messaging and e-mail features as well as the display. But, after all, they think highly of the LG Attune UN270. We tested it and offer you the above review.

Attractive design

In terms of appearance, this new product is appealing, though not as attractive as others. If you ever had an LG Cosmos Touch, then the one we’re reviewing here has the former’s measurements, namely 4.05” x 2.08” x 0.65”. Those of you who have small hands will love this phone. The material it is made of is smooth plastic and the red band surrounding the screen make it extra attractive; its sides are soft to the touch and its corners are curved. The Attune UN270 comes with a weight of 4.37ounces which offers no difficulty when moving it from place to place or holding it to talk with loved ones.

QWERTY keyboard

On the front of the Attune UN270 is a 2.8” resistive screen that doesn’t offer the touch option but sports a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and 262.000 colors; during our tests we had to press buttons quite a few times before we could access what we wanted. The wallpaper, screen image and others could easily be adjustable. Two of the display’s home screen could be customizable and the main home screen gave us the possibility to fill it with various widgets and apps. The main buttons under the screen were somewhat small, but nonetheless easy to press. As we said when we began this review, the LG Attune UN270 boasts a sliding QWERTY keyboard with different locations for symbols but with the same well-spaced buttons – that are easy to text by feel – we have come to expect from LG phones.

Good battery life

In the features department, the Attune UN270 shares them with other phones offered by LG. what’s different is the lack of mobile e-mail, VZ Navigator and others and the existence of Pac-Man, Easyedge and so on.
The performance of this product was, except some issues, good. The voices we heard were clear and loud; our friends said that they heard a bit of crackling and distortion; the speakerphone shared the same audio quality.
The 6 hours of talk time offered by the battery were a nice addition to the phone.

Test and review conclusions

To sum it up this test, the LG Attune UN270 is one of those entry-level devices which are good options for everybody, although the resistive screen will disappoint.

LG Flatron E2770V-BF Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

At the first sight, the new LG Flatron E2770V is a very thin monitor, even its 27 inch diagonal suggest something else. In fact the thick of the monitor is just 2.3 cm if you ignore the foot.  Compared with other models, the E2770V seems to be improved at the consumption chapter and at the design of ventilation elements.  The consumption is very good because the monitor is powered by LED. In our tests, the power consumption was about 36 watts in operation. This is a very good value for a ISP panel with 27 inch diagonal. If you turn off or the monitor is is stand by mode, the consumption is very good too with values between 0.8 and just 0.2 Watts. Is a very eco friendly at the energy consumption chapter.

The Flatron E2770V-BF is a LED monitor launched on the market at a competitive price: just about 350 euros. This monitor seems to be a good business if you need a great 27 monitor at a good price.

The expectations before test

The latest 27 inch monitor launched by LG is powered by LED and uses the IPS  technology. The format of the panel is a 16 / 9 and at the first sight this product can be a good choice. The monitor is able to offer full HD image (1980 x 1080 pixels) at a low response time. The producer claims that the  contrast ratio is about 1000:1 (with the dynamic contrast stopped). The new IPS technology is used by the competitors from Eizo and is able to offer uniform colors and improved viewing angles. This can be a real advantage against the Twisted Nematic technology, used by almost all competitors.

The reality

A beautiful image provided

We want to talk now about the image quality. In our test the contrast ratio is very close to the values ​​advertised by producer with 928:1. This is a good value for a monitor like this one and is a good advantage if you want to see a movie, for example, and this is full of dark scenes and images. The measurements shows good values for the brightness with about 269 cd / m², another value very closed by what LG claims. You must know that the default configuration for the brightness is not good and you must increase the default value.

After just few settings, the image provided is already very smooth. Another advantage of this monitor are is the viewing angle, with good values comparing with the classic Twisted Nematic technology. The response time in our tests is about 6.5 ms, a good value for a monitor with this diagonal. It can be used by the gamers without any shadowing or ghosting risk.
At the connectivity chapter, the Flatron E2770V-BF seems to have a lot of connectors. Here are present two HDMI ports, aand a DVI and VGA connector. You can connect to the monitor your headphones because here is present a stereo headphone jack. A bad point is that the monitor has no speaker included.

A remote control included

In terms of usability, the monitor is not very impressive. The buttons are accessible on the front of the panel but are somehow not very intuitive to use. The ergonomics is not very good but the monitor compensate with a remote control. With this accessory you are able to setup the monitor settings. You can access, via remote, the brightness of the panel or different preset display configurations.

The test and review conclusions

After our tests, we can provide you our conclusions about the E2770V-BF. The monitor has a very good price and offer impressive performance for just 350 euros. We recommend this monitor to all the computer users. The display is very pleasant and you can use it for games, HD movies and internet browsing, as well.

LG Thrill 4G Review, Release Date, Specifications and Features

 LG smartphones are not as popular as those offered by other brands; which is a shame, because some of them are quite good and worth the money you pay for them. The new LG Thrill 4G seems to have gotten quite a number of loyal fans which think very highly of it. And, because we wanted to see whether they were right or not, we tested the smartphone. Read our following review for more details.

3D mode

As usual, we’ll begin our review by discussing the design of this device. The latest phone launched by LG is a black slab-style one. It measures 5.0” x 2.7” x 0.5” and comes with a weight of 167g; weirdly enough, the latter should have meant that the product was light, but when we held it it felt somewhat heavy. An UBS and HDMI port are housed on the left side; the top panel sports a power key. The 3D button installed by manufacturers didn’t activate the camera of  Thrill 4G, as you might have thought; instead it opened the 3D mode.

4.3” TFT LCD touchscreen

As for display, the LG Thrill 4G has a 4.3” 3D TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen with the following resolution: 800 x 480. Sadly, even though it delivered very nice colors and brightness, we couldn’t really see it in direct sunlight; another con for the touchscreen: it didn’t offer protection against fingerprints. Also, during our test, we noticed that the filter which should have turned the display into a 3D panel didn’t really work.

The LG Thrill 4G runs on Android 2.2.2 and uses a dual-core 1GHz processor. The operating system comes with a TI OMAP 4430 chipset. Another disappointment was the long time it took for the phone to open its display. But, other than that, it worked well. The camera was a decent one; photos looked bright and had beautiful colors, but they weren’t that detailed or sharp.

A lot of apps

In the apps department, the Thrill 4G includes about 200.000 of them; we will mention just a few: AT&T TV, Facebook, Twitter, Kindle and many others. The web browser worked smoothly and pages opened fast. There was also support for e-mail programs.
What we thought funny was the fact that, despite its name, the new LG smartphone wasn’t 4G. But it surely offered 3G possibilities which weren’t exploited to their fullest, because the screen was too small and had a much too low resolution; what is more, the device doesn’t integrate a 3D viewing angle.
As for memory and storage, the gadget sports an 8GB microSD card along with 5.5GB of internal memory.

Good sound performance

In terms of multimedia, the LG Thrill 4G provides a music player with good sound performance. The only format not compatible is WMA.
Audio quality was generally impressive. Our friends sounded loud when we called them and they had no problem hearing us; the speakerphone also worked impeccably. We didn’t notice distortions and talk time was around eight hours. The bands the phone supports are 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100.

Test and review conclusion

All things considered, after the test performed for this review we can conclude that the LG Thrill 4G is quite a nice option if you love smartphones and want one which is easy to use and boasts 3D. If you want something more and have higher expectations, this is not the one for you.
