The people behind Gateway launched new laptop a couple of months ago, which they called ID47H02u. This device is aimed at people who prefer a fast processor, a lot of good features and great battery more than the exterior part. The product we are talking about here is also appreciated thanks to its affordable price. But is it really that effective? We gave it a go and wrote the following review so that you, our readers, will find out the answer. Intel HD Graphics 3000
On to the design, the Gateway ID47H02u isn’t as weird-looking as some of its predecessors. This latest model features a pleasing to the eye compact body with an added clean cut; the lid is made of aluminum and the glass display comes with a matte bezel. The color it shipped in was silver and black, which we personally liked. Its measurements and weight are 13” x 9” x 1.1” and 1.99kg.The Gateway ID47H02u has a screen of 14” which offers the following in terms of specifications: a resolution of 1.366 x 768 pixels, Intel HD Graphics 3000 and many others. During our test for this review, the colors on the display appeared somewhat washed-out and there was noticeable glare. Also, we’ve come across better viewing angles than the ones on this laptop.
Intel Core i5-2410M processor
The keyboard is the usual island type and it was responsive, so no complaints there; buttons had enough space between them and we liked the fact that there were buttons which provided dedicated volume controls. As for touchpad, the ID47H02u laptop offers a blue Synaptics clickpad-style one; it is, without a doubt, among the best ones we’ve tested so far and it also gave us the possibility to easily perform multitouch gestures.
In the connectivity area, this new laptop hailing from Gateway boasts 1 USB 3.0 connector (and 2 simple ones), Ethernet port, audio in/out, HDMI, VGA port and 5-in-1 card reader.
The processor on this device is a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-2410M which delivered good overall speed; the latter helped us smoothly multitask. Memory is well represented by 500GB, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 5.400rpm hard drive. As for operating system, the product uses Windows 7 Home Premium (the 64-bit version).

1.280 x 1.024 pixels resolution
Despite the Intel HD 3000 graphics, the Gateway ID47H02u offers no dedicated graphics possibilities, so complex games won’t work that well as on gaming laptops.The laptop we tested in our lab sports a webcam which has 1.280 x 1.024 pixels; we enjoyed it, because it took nice pictures and recorded good-looking videos.
Sound quality was loud enough, thanks to the pair of integrated stereo speakers located and above the laptop’s keyboard.
Good battery life
Compared to other devices, the Gateway ID47H02u notebook didn’t make our wrists sweat, due to the fact that the heat was well taken after.The 6-cell battery included with the laptop managed to offer some 6 hours of continuous video playback on a single charge.
Test and review conclusions
